Urgent requirement: furnace operator (Michigan)

Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Newaygo County, Michigan. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Meals and transport allowance provided. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
