Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day to day you will read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
