The role involves dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel; clear debris and sweep the slab before the next pour; mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer; fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns; stack and store materials safely to avoid wastage; backfill and ram down soil around the foundations.
