Sewing machine operator wanted in Hancock County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Hancock County, Iowa. You will work on an export house sewing floor. Day to day you will keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching. Ideal candidate: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Full-time, day shift.
