Fettler — Pickens County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fettler in Pickens County, Alabama. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Overtime paid at a premium rate. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
