Furnace operator — Portsmouth

Great opportunity: we are hiring a furnace operator in Portsmouth, England. Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day to day you will maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles. Six days a week, one day off. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. £95 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
