Sand plant operator • Madison County, Montana

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Madison County, Montana. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch. 1+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
