Immediate opening: we are hiring a CNC programmer-operator in Marin County, California. The job is in a die and mould making unit. Ideal candidate: • ITI/NCVT certificate in machinist or turner trade • Proficient with micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T Day-to-day duties: • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square • Deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
