Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Sussex County, Virginia. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards The role involves: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant 2+ years on the tools preferred.
