Now hiring: we are hiring a vertical transportation technician in Aleutians West Census Area, Alaska. What we are looking for: • Working knowledge of EN 81 / IS 14665 lift safety standards • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work • ITI in electrical/mechanical or an equivalent trade certificate The role involves run load and overload tests with test weights; top up the oil and bleed the cylinder on hydraulic lifts; replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays; respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers; mount and align landing doors, sills and car door operators. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
