Vacancy available: we are hiring a vertical milling machine operator in Doniphan County, Kansas. The job is at a busy machine shop. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron The role involves: • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Read engineering drawings and GD&T to plan the machining sequence • Hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
