Gas metal arc welder • Allegany County, New York

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Allegany County, New York. Day-to-day duties: • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols What we are looking for: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
