Port container crane operator — Hyde County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a port container crane operator in Hyde County, South Dakota. You will work on a bridge and infrastructure project. On a typical shift you will carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block; set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground; grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands; work out the load weight and the lifting radius; help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone; fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure. What we are looking for: • Strong attention to safety and load limits • Understanding of hand and radio signals • Able to read load charts and lifting plans 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Walk-in interviews this week.
