Foundry operative — New Kent County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry operative in New Kent County, Virginia. You will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts 6+ years on the tools preferred.
