Now hiring: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Storey County, Nevada. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Rotating shifts.
