Vacancy available: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Juneau City and Borough, Alaska. The job is at a busy machine shop. Requirements: • 2-3 years' hands-on milling experience • Proficient with micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges Your main tasks: • Apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed • Measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square • Deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery 5+ years on the tools preferred.
