Great opportunity: we are hiring a conventional mill operator in Lampasas County, Texas. You will be based at a busy machine shop. Ideal candidate: • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces • Safety conscious and comfortable wearing PPE around moving machinery Your main tasks: • Hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Load and edit CNC programs (G-code) at the Fanuc/Siemens control • Keep in-process inspection records and log production counts • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
