On a typical shift you will assemble column and beam cages on the bench; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length. Requirements: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
