Immediate opening: core maker (New Mexico)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Catron County, New Mexico. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Your main tasks: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
