Core maker • Mercer County, West Virginia

We are recruiting: we are hiring a core maker in Mercer County, West Virginia. You will work at a busy iron foundry. The role involves: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
