Plant operator • Essex County, Virginia

Great opportunity: we are hiring a plant operator in Essex County, Virginia. You will work in an open-cast quarry. Day to day you will clear sites, demolish structures and load out muck and rubble; carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels; backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers; lift and place pipes, manholes and precast sections with the bucket and chains; track the machine on and off low-loaders for transport; work to laser, GPS or 2D/3D machine-control guidance. What we are looking for: • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Reliable, punctual and able to get to site • Comfortable with GPS or laser machine control Part-time with flexible hours.
