Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Washington County, New York. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. On the job you will handle: • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing What we are looking for: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
