Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Pike County, Georgia. On the job you will handle: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time with occasional weekends.
