Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Grant County, South Dakota. You will be based on a busy housing site. Ideal candidate: • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) On the job you will handle: • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. $4,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
