Shakeout operator • Greene County, Virginia

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Greene County, Virginia. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection You will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant.
