Foundry operative — Ocean County

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Ocean County, New Jersey. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
