Urgent requirement: reinforcement steel fixer (Illinois)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Franklin County, Illinois. You will work on a busy residential building site. You will lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing. Requirements: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. $140 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
