Now hiring: we are hiring a glazing assistant in City and Borough of Salford, England. The job is in a shopfront glazing company. Ideal candidate: • Aware of safe glass handling and PPE such as cut-resistant gloves • Comfortable working at height with scaffolding and ladders • Own basic hand tools an advantage On the job you will handle: • Measure window and door openings and order glass to size • Handle large panes using suction cups and a lifting frame • Grind and polish cut edges to take off the sharp arris • Install toughened and laminated safety glass • Cut glass to size using a glass cutter and running pliers • Fit double-glazed sealed units into frames Overtime paid at a premium rate.
