Pipe tig welder wanted in Bay County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Bay County, Michigan. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Your main tasks: • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters What we are looking for: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection 5+ years on the tools preferred.
