Day to day you will set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; grind back and re-weld any defective runs. Ideal candidate: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
