Great opportunity: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Warrington, England. The job is on a structural steel site. Day to day you will read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise. You should have: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Six days a week, one day off.
