Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Washington County, Oklahoma. You will work in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. Ideal candidate: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to pass a weld test on the spot On a typical shift you will tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal.
