Join our team: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in City of Norton, Virginia. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Day to day you will back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. You should have: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Full-time with occasional weekends.
