The role involves: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush Requirements: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
