Immediate opening: we are hiring a presser in City of Norfolk, Virginia. Requirements: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine On a typical shift you will keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; give each garment a final press before packing.
