Vacancy available: shakeout operator (Kentucky)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a shakeout operator in McLean County, Kentucky. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. Your main tasks: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills We offer $19 per hour plus benefits.
