Lifting rigger wanted in City of Emporia

Immediate opening: we are hiring a lifting rigger in City of Emporia, Virginia. You will work at a container port. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Read lift plans and method statements before starting Requirements: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Confident with standard crane hand signals 3+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
