Natural gas fitter wanted in Carroll County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a natural gas fitter in Carroll County, Illinois. Day-to-day duties: • Connect combi boilers, water heaters and gas cookers to the supply • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Locate and repair gas leaks and replace corroded pipe sections • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints Ideal candidate: • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $22 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
