We are recruiting: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Woodford County, Illinois. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills The role involves: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
