Ideal candidate: • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota The role involves rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables; set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear; service the traction motor, brake and gearbox; mount and align landing doors, sills and car door operators; replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays; fill in the service logbook and statutory inspection paperwork.
