Concrete shuttering carpenter • Derry City and Strabane, Northern Ireland

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a concrete shuttering carpenter in Derry City and Strabane, Northern Ireland. You should have: • Knows de-shuttering times and concrete curing • Sound understanding of props, bracing and load-bearing • Skilled with circular saw, hand tools and spirit level The role involves: • Box out openings for doors, windows and service penetrations • Brace and strut the formwork to stop movement during the pour • Fix soldiers, walers and tie rods to resist the concrete pressure • Erect wall and column formwork to line, level and plumb • Cut and assemble plywood and timber panels for columns, beams and slabs • Watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
