Now hiring: we are hiring a fettler in Van Zandt County, Texas. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling On a typical shift you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. $2,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time with occasional weekends. Contact us to fix an interview.
