Trainee butcher — Saginaw County

Now hiring: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Saginaw County, Michigan. You will be based in a supermarket meat department. What we are looking for: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling The role involves sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings. Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $4,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Contact us to fix an interview.
