Shakeout operator — Suffolk County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Suffolk County, New York. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. On a typical shift you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. $130 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
