Now hiring: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Wexford County, Michigan. On the job you will handle: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Part-time with flexible hours.
