Counter butcher • City of Newport News, Virginia

We are recruiting: we are hiring a counter butcher in City of Newport News, Virginia. Day to day you will monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts. Requirements: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required 6+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
