The role involves: • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position Requirements: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Full-time with occasional weekends.
