GTAW welder — Tompkins County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Tompkins County, New York. The job is at an automotive body and exhaust shop. Day to day you will clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut. You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to pass a weld test on the spot 5+ years on the tools preferred. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
