You should have: • Clean, methodical and safety-conscious • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders Your main tasks: • Fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints • Carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
