Vertical milling machine operator — Bedford

Great opportunity: we are hiring a vertical milling machine operator in Bedford, England. You will be based at a busy machine shop. You will select and fit end mills, face mills and slot drills into collets and arbors; deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery; monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters; set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe; machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing; run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
